Sarah's Choice Runner

My latest project was 'Sarah's Choice Table Runner'.

Turned out well I think!

Made for a dear friend's Birthday on Sunday - Happy Birthday for Sunday Kristy! (though I didn't actually finish it until Monday night, 2 mins before I left to visit her!)

This was one of the projects I worked on while at Camp. Love the colours, I think I will make myself one too!

That brings my OPAM October tally to 6!

Postcards

Seems like SO long ago, but I made my lovely friend Leanne a postcard block for her Postcard quilt. I wrote a little message on it for her:

In the crazy quilt of life, I'm glad you're in my blocks of friends.

Quite fitting!! While at Camp, Leanne took it with her so we could all see it:

Here she is smiling proudly (in her pj's!):

Leanne, you did a wonderful job on the quilt! And, I am so pleased that I was a part of it!

More camp

In our Goody Bags, we all received these GORGEOUS little packages, donated by the lovely Fee! Everyone loved these little bundles.... they are SO cute! Each one was different, and all looked wonderful all packaged up this way - in a cup cake case!! Thanks Fee xx

Also, we had some lucky door prizes, one being a couple of patterns donated by Marg Low and a gorgeous button donated by Barb from Theodora Cleave. Congrats Giselle!!

Also, we were given a big bag full of great gifts from Esme's, so we all ended up with something special!! Here is what I received, a Charm Pack and some cute fabric:

Here we have Pauline and Roseanne, getting some tea ready for us all......

Here is a pic of our lounge room, on Saturday afternoon:

And, check out this mess by Sat night..... Pauline went out of the room and went to come back in and commented how messy we were, so I had to take a pic!

I could not help taking this pic..... ! Check out those legs! I wonder who they belong to......... What happens at Camp, stays at Camp LOL!

I did manage to get a bit of sewing done, but no finishes.... actually finished one project off tonight before I gave it away for a birthday gift (Happy Birthday Kristy for yesterday xx)!
Just want to say ladies, thanks SO much for a wonderful weekend! I truly had a ball! Looking forward to next year........ And, thanks to Cathy for suggesting we do it, great idea for the venue, and thankyou for making me a part of it! xx

Pin cushion

I am currently sewing up a storm at Camp, so I have decided to schedule this post while I am away.......

Here at Camp, some of us ladies decided to do a little swap with the theme of a 'Sewing Accessory Item'. So, anything like a pin cushion, scissor keeper, thread tidy, etc. I have actually made 2 things, as a lady new to craft came with us, and I made her a little something to swap. This is what I made for her to swap..... a Heart Pincushion, made with some Nancy Halverson fabrics:

This is such a cool pin cushion as there is also a needlecase at the front, tied at the front with some matching ribbon.......

I even did some hand quilting around the side:

I have made this pattern before and it is quite easy to make, and looks great! I must make myself one!
I wonder who will receive it?
Tomorrow, I will share what I made to swap.........

Advice anyone?

I would love some advice! I still have not got much on our walls as yet - cant seem to find the quilt I usually hang in our dining room, and still cant decided on where to put things yet! So, I have decided to ask you all about this quilt...... Journey of a Quilter!

Ok, so here is a pic of our entrance hallway. Now, shall I hang this on this wall just before you get to the living area, next to the treadle (which is closed up at the moment):

Close up of the wall...... and Dennis's legs lol

Or on the wall closer to the front door:

Next to my favourite treadle:

If I hung it on the wall closer to the living area, I would hang something else on the other wall, later on. I would really, really love some suggestions here!

Phone pouch and another secret!

A project I whipped up last weekend was this mobile phone pouch! Made with a pic of my friends 'baby boy' (as she calls him lol) 'Jack' the Jack Russell! She had been eyeing my phone pouch my Mum gave me a couple of years ago with a Miniature Schnauzer on it, and had been looking for one with a Jack Russell on it, but could never find one...... So I made her one, personalised with a pic of HER boy!

I slipped her phone in this morning when she wasn't looking! Talk about excited! She loved it!

On other sewing news..... I have LOTS of stuff going on, but I cant really show just yet..... not for a week, sorry! But, I will show you this little sneak peep of one thing:

Actually, you can probably tell what it is...... oh well!
I hope you enjoy your week!

My gift.....

I received my Paper Bag swap gift from Sue. Wrapped in beautiful paper, waiting to open during chat night:

And, here is what she made me, a note book cover! Isn't it gorgeous?! I totally love these fabrics and I had forgotten what I actually sent her lol!

I love what she did with the ric rac..... little blue french knots:

She also put in a 'My To Do's' book. This is pretty cool too, haven't seen one of these before!

I am sure I will fill it up!

Thanks so much Sue! I really love it all! xx

Funny weather here today, quite windy, and looked like rain on and off! Just had a little rain shower so I had to make a mad dash to the clothes line!

Paper Bag Swap gifts

Tonight was 'opening night' for our Paper Bag Swap with our Online Group. Helen had to send me 2 FQ's, button, trim and a stitchery (which she sent me the doily instead) and I had to make something for her with those bits. I thought for quite a while as to what to make for her, and after seeing some pics on her blog of herself and her dear Mum, I knew I wanted to incorporate one of the pics into some sort of keepsake for her!

I decided to make her a cushion! I am pretty pleased with how it turned out....... And, notice the doily? I appliqued a heart from one of the fabrics to it and put the heart button in the centre:

I still had a little bit of fabric left, and instead of sending it back, I decided to whip up one of these Thread Bins we were taught to make at the Kerry Swain workshop last year:

Glad you liked it Helen! I was such a joy making you this special pressie xx

Quilting and Re-Purposed Thursday

So, what am I quilting at the moment...... This funky 'Heather Bailey' quilt designed by the lovely Clare from Clare's Place!

This panel of raw edged applique circles looks great! And, I quilted it with my higgledy piggledy swirls......

Looks quite funky don't you think?!

Clare has just released another new pattern today, 'Wheels'.... a GREAT boy's quilt! Congrats Clare! I have just ordered some of her patterns and will be receiving them Sat...... See you then :+)
On another note, I read on Fee's blog about her Re-Purposed Thursday's and have decided to join in today! One of my most favourite things I have is this old Brandy Crate (much to Dennis's disgust!).

I have it sitting next to our dresser in the dining, we put all our old newspapers, catalogues, paper etc in it, ready for recycle day........

Hmmmmm..... which is still a few days away!! Drop over to Fee's to see what she has to share.......

Blonde moments......

About a week or two ago, I traced off the 4th My Garden Block. A lovely little Birdbath:

With a cute Bluebird button.... I actually only started stitching this on Saturday morning, while Nan was here for her weekly cuppa...... I thought to myself, hmmmmm....... this seems a little small!! But, I kept of stitching away......

Saturday night, while watching a DVD, I got back into it a little..... thinking again that it was quite small......... Then last night, I picked it up again, started stitching away, and you guessed it, thought it was a little small compared with the others.... It was only then, that I decided to check it with the others:

Ummm...... YEP!! I had actually traced off the stitchery guide instead of the actual pattern!!

Far out!! Now I am going to have to trace it all off again!! GRRRR
Dennis thought it was a hoot!

PS: The Pinwheel offer is now closed! Thankyou to all the ladies who purchased a set, I am sure you will love this technique!
