Pin cushion

I am currently sewing up a storm at Camp, so I have decided to schedule this post while I am away.......

Here at Camp, some of us ladies decided to do a little swap with the theme of a 'Sewing Accessory Item'. So, anything like a pin cushion, scissor keeper, thread tidy, etc. I have actually made 2 things, as a lady new to craft came with us, and I made her a little something to swap. This is what I made for her to swap..... a Heart Pincushion, made with some Nancy Halverson fabrics:

This is such a cool pin cushion as there is also a needlecase at the front, tied at the front with some matching ribbon.......

I even did some hand quilting around the side:

I have made this pattern before and it is quite easy to make, and looks great! I must make myself one!
I wonder who will receive it?
Tomorrow, I will share what I made to swap.........

Your hand quilting is gorgeous! I haven't done a ton of quilting by hand though I've begun working on a little cheater panel to get some practice. Sure hope I can work my way up to such beatiful and even stitching as yours. :)

The pin cushion is wonderful and I love the wrap around needlecase. I'm new to the delightful world of stitcheries and I have GOT to make a needlecase. I piece quilts on my sewing machine and I have know how to embroidery for years but have Scleroderma and lost the ablility to do the intricate stitching I had learned early on. BUT having surgery a couple of months ago made me pick up the needle again because I just had to have something pretty to work on while I couldn't sit at the machine and I was directed to the delightful stitchery designers over the ocean from me here in the USA. I adore the stitcheries I have found. They are wonderful, beautiful and fun to stitch and my hands can still do the easier stitches so I am having so much fun stitching away. Something I thought I had lost forever except with a sewing machine. WEll, that was a long winding way to tell you why I needed to make a needlecase wasn't it, LOL. There are some wonderful patterns, I just have to get busy. Thanks for showing this beautiful pin cusion and I agree with Pumpkin Patch Quilter...your quilting is lovely. Just perfect!
