What a weekend!! I had planned to sew up a storm this weekend..... with Dennis working I will have no interruptions and decided that I had to finish off this Quillow for a friends little boy's 1st Birthday on Wed!! It was sitting on my sewing desk for a little while now - just the top..... all I had to do was add the borders.... layer, sew all sides add pillow - I have made plenty of these before so........ easy peasy!! NOT!! This pattern is called Turnabout and it so quick and easy, but, I found it SO hard adding the borders as the blocks are cut on the bias, everytime I added them I seemed to stretch the blocks.....
GRRR!! After
8 attempts at the very first border (that is NO joke, I did it 8 times!!) I decided it was the best I could get it! I was trying to do it for hours last night and all morning today.......... now, I have all borders on, the pillow is attached and it is all sewn up - ready for the 'tying'. As these quillows have the pillow pocket I find it a little hard to quilt, so tie it instead, which I will be doing over the next couple of nights!
Once I have finished it, I will post a closeup pic and some pics of the pillow part! This project
Roseanne and Myself were going to do together as she wanted to make one of these for one of her GS, but this b'day came round so quick that I just had to do it myself...... Roseanne has started though!!

sarah your quillow looks great, what a shame you had to work those borders 8 times. Congrats Kerry.
Congratulations Kerry! Looking forward to seeing your tidy bin when I visit next!
Oh Sarah you poor thing, the trouble with the quillow sounds very frustrating. Glad it is almost over for you.

Gosh your quillow sounds like too much brain power. I make them just out of polar fleece. So warm and snuggly.
Congrats to Kerry, what a surprise to know the winner.
Hi Sarah, wow I can't believe that I have actually won something, how cool is that - I never win anything. I love your work so I will cherish it and think of you when ever I use it, thanks heaps.
Looking forward to recieving it in the mail.
Your friend in stitching
