AQC

We had a spur of the moment decision to go to AQC, just for the day.  We arrived in Melbourne at 9.30am and got home just after 10pm!  A whirlwind trip.  Roseanne and myself had a great time, I had never been to AQC, and Roseanne had never been to Melb!!

The quilts were AMAZING!  I especially liked this one, called 'Elenor Jean' enough to purchase the book, signed by Linda White herself! And, it was best in Australia.  Made from 1/4" hexies.

You cant see that this one had been jewelled:

The one below was made entirely from scraps, some 1/2" pieces!  WOW!!

I really loved this giant Swoon!

We decided to do some Make & Take Workshops.  I was keen to try Helen Stubbings hexie method with the iron on applique, so started this cute as a button purse.  These hexies are 1/4" and I made one flower in the class - I could have done more, but got chatting!  I look forward to finishing this at some stage....

Here is Helen and Myself at the class:

Another class we chose to do was this cute necklace.  These were quick and easy.  Though I had trouble turning it in the right way, even the teacher had trouble fixing it for me LOL. Give me a skewer or chopstick I can handle that!

It was also lovely to catch up with Gail Pan.  I adore her patterns, and while I was there, I picked up some newbies.

We left as the door closed and tried many times to take a 'selfie'. This is as good as it gets.  We sure got some giggles.

Beautiful water feature at Carlton Gardens

We hope to come back next year.

Is that little flower the beginnings of a 1/4" quilt? AQC looks as amazing as I expected, hope to get there myself one day.
