Blocks 4 & 5

These blocks were surprisingly quick to put together after having everything cut out!  Dennis and Myself went to Gravely Beach for lunch today then drove into Launceston.  We arrived home at about 3.30pm and they were finished by 5pm....

I think block 4 is my favourite so far:

And, here is block 5:

I am finding that there is some bulk in the seams.... like with all Pinwheel blocks, so I have been opening them up in the 'row' seams.  Makes a huge difference!  Generally I am a 'to one side' sort of gal, but it really helps with the quilting side of things.  What do you do?  I would love to know.....

Here are the blocks on my Design Wall.....

Looks like block 4 is the only one with yellow!  Bugger!  I will have to put some in the next block - due out this week!  Even though I am up to date, I am not really as I have not started the very first part of this - the 36 border pinwheels!!

Youo're on fire with those blocks. I go to the side mostly, but do whatever works for the project. Have fun with all those pinwheels!

Your blocks look great Sarah. I press to the side mainly but some times I do press the seams open, depending on the block I guess.

trhey look great Sarah. I recall watching the lady demonstrating one of the blocks that you had in your Party list which had pinwheels. She said that she undoes the seam stitches at the centre, where they cross, and then "mooshes" them around with her finger so that the seam sits flat at the centre of the pinwheel.
Haven't made any pinwheels for ages, but maybe worth trying??
This may not post - can't read the words!! So difficult these days! Wish me luck - 3 tries only!! Winner!
