Our online Stitching Group's Birthday Swap theme is 'Cook, Grow and Eat'! A very challenging one, but fun to think of things to put into a package! I made for the gorgeous Fiona (Happy Birthday for Sunday Fee xx)!
I pondered over quite a few things to make, then settled on this Rosalie Quinlan bag:
But first, I made a cute little thread purse. It turned out pretty good, BUT when I made the bag, it didn't match at all..... I don't know why I didn't use the same fabric! Must have been 'one of those moments'! So, I re-done the purse and it turned out well:
Inside the purse, I attached a needle case section and added some thread:
So, they were the 'GROW' theme:
Now, 'COOK'. I had the pattern and bits to make one of these for SO long! Its a Marg Low cupcake needle case. Isn't is just SO cute?!
And, opened up:
In total, 3 handmade items:
EAT: Has to be CHOCOLATE!!
While at the Post Office a few weeks ago, I came across this cute pack. It contained an oven mit, tea towel, cookbook to write your favourite recipes in and pen. AND, they actually matched the handmade gifts! Perfect! So, in they go for the COOK theme!
Love the saying on them: Love, laughter and friends always welcome here.
