To buy or not to buy........

Ok, so about 12 months ago (I know it was 12 months ago, as we first spotted these last year at Agfest!!), we were checking out the Thermomix!  It seems to do alot of things, and would help out in the kitchen for sure..... But, they are such ALOT of money!  Both Dennis and Myself check them out on the net alot, and recently found the review between the Thermomix and the ThermoChef (the cheaper version from home ware stores) here is one review and all the ones I have found say similar things, but still I am undecided!  At the moment, Thermomix is having 12 months interest free until 6th June so that is a little incentive.  But still, I am undecided.  I am off to a demo in a week so would love to be prepared........

I was talking to a lady recently who claimed she cooks for her family of 6 in this..... Really, 6?!  It doesn't look big enough.  I would *love* to know your opinion/reviews/comments etc - good and BAD about these machines.  Don't be shy, I am sure others out there would love to know!

They are so popular at the moment, but like you say they are so expensive! I am looking forward to seeing everyones feedback/comments for this post!
I will be getting a Kitchen Aid soon and purchased a Food Processor a little while back so for me I can't really see the need for one...but I do like the idea of it cleaning itself though!lol!
Great post Sarah and I will be back!!

I'm having a demo here at the end of the month (a Friday if you're free). I've been researching a lot lately too. Vicki B has one and says it's great.

I'll come Christine - love the little tips you always come away with. My Thermomix gets quite a work out and I did donate my old blender, etc to school for the Happy Room. Apricot and Chicken risotto was made in it, Sarah. Am going to "redo" that recipe for non Thermomix people for Friday!

I don't have a theromix but a couple of blogs I read love them. Look at retromummy blog and frog dancer blog they have lots of postings about them.

I love my thermomix!!!!! Wanted one for a few years but couldn't get past the price, went to a demo and fell in love with it. For me it's about quick dinners so making a pasta sauce from scratch and cooking the pasta and stirring it all for me is a lifesaver at night time. Making my own caster sugar to start my cake and cookie recipes is also great and it makes icing sugar too. It does so much more than i use it for and I really need to use my steamer more but I love that you can cook rice and steaming veg and meat or fish up top too.
My hubby was against it until I brought it home. I gave away my juicer, rice cooker, kitchen scales, hand blender, hand beater and slow cooker. It does so much in our house and is always in use! Go to the demo with an open mind and watch how easy it is and how delicious the food is! I never think about the price now that it's at home as I use it everyday. Oh and the white sauce - perfect! every time, white sauce in 7 minutes is a winner! and we have a family of 6 soon to be 7 and it cooks plenty for us!

good luck and enjoy the demo, so much fun
