Melbourne

So I am back from Melb! We had a great time! Spent a fortune, but that's what it is all about right?!

Anyway, on Thursday I surprised Dennis by taking him to the Tutankhamun Exhibition! That was just fantastic! I am SO glad we went, and that it is STILL here! If you get the chance, you really must go! Then off for Dinner with my 3 cousins! They are a hoot!

Friday, we pottered around and went to Ikea! WOW!! The displays are just gorgeous!! If we took the car, we could have easily loaded up!! This room was one of my favourites:

Seriously, when are we getting one of these babies in Tassie?!

Saturday was AQM. And can you believe I did NOT take one pic while there?! Honestly, whats wrong with me!! It was quite busy and it was good to catch up with everyone! I even caught up with one special lady for lunch and actually REMEMBERED to take a pic. It was SO nice catching up Kerri xx

Sunday, back to AQM as I decided to get a couple of things, then we pottered about! We found The Cupcake Bakery and they even had HUGE cupcakes! We had to stop in for a cappuccino and cupcake..... This is the one I chose:

Now back home, and have a ton of new stuff to load on my site! That's going to be a mission and a half! I also have new stuff coming too..... probably next week! But, keep an eye out on my New Arrivals page!

While away, we had our online Groups Ornie Swap! TOTALLY love what I received! I will take a pic and come back tomorrow and show you!

Sydney part 2

We also visited the Maritime Museum. Checked out inside a submarine! Gosh there is not much room in those! Some beds are just under the missile's. Wouldn't want to sit up, you'll bang your head lol! We also went and checked out The Destroyer, James Craige and the Duyfken (well, I had to get off that one.... It was quite rocky so I was feeling quite seedy!!):

Then off to the Aquarium. You cant take pics in there as they don't turn out that great! I love checking out the Sting Ray's. They have funny a mouth. You can just stay in the tunnel for AGES checking out the fish, turtles, rays and sharks!

While at the Maritime Museum, I spotted this:

There was actually 2 in dock! Then while waiting for our Dinner Cruise on an old ship, we sat right across this, just before it set sail. The other went out shortly after:

Ok, I have a little obsession..... I also spotted it from up the tower too, just peeping around the corner!

One day, when I retire I WILL go on one! It is something I have always wanted to do. Not sure how I would go really as I do get a little motion sick!

On the sewing front, I have finished ONE swap gift! YAY! And it looks great! I have another cut out and its on my Design Wall at the moment for when I get a chance to get it together. My Xmas Ornie Swap is done, ready to post first thing, another Ornie for Miss Sophie's hairdresser for Xmas is completed...... Just about to make a little calendar to go with it, before a friend drops in so I can help her get ready to sew a cushion together....... She's no a sewer, but has been interested in a little while, so she decided to make a couple of hexie cushions. And, she is loving it! Might get a quilter out of this one!! lol

I hope you all have enjoyed your weekend.

Sydney trip

As most of you know, our work whisked us all away to Syd for 4 nights all expenses paid recently. We all had a ball!

We arrived just after lunch on the Thursday, we settled into our apartments, hit the shops, then back in time to venture out as a group to the shopping complex above Paddy's Market and Dinner in Chinatown.

We went to the Zoo.... via ferry. We got to see the Sydney Harbour Bridge close up:

Can you believe we didn't get too many pics at the Zoo..... Silly me forgot to charge the camera! DUH!

So, just a Koala or two:

And some Zebra's:

And, the Tower. Cool! You can even post a postcard from there.

Beautiful views!

And famous Bondi Beach! I tell you, it was VERY hot on the day we went!

I will come back tomorrow and share one last post.......

I hope you are enjoying your Saturday!

Birthday Celebrations

I have just got in the door after celebrating a special Birthday! A 7 year old's Birthday actually! Who is 7??? It is actually Calico Crossroads 7th birthday! How time flies! Pauline celebrated by holding a Quilt Expo in the hall across the road from her shop, showcasing the fine work of the Tamar Valley quilters, from both the East and West Tamar Valley region and the work, OUTSTANDING! There really is some talented quilters out there!

Lynette Anderson 'Christmas Wishes' (don't you just love this! Love the fabrics too..... which reminds me, I have a kit to make up for Xmas in this range! Looks like next Xmas!):

Girls Day out in Celebrate Spring fabrics..... looked very pretty in this range I must say!

Remember the Homespun BOM Life is a Celebration..... looks great in these fabrics!!

And, the shop had 20% store wide! So, we pottered around, had a coffee and cake (and a homemade bickie too!) and loaded up! Roseanne spotted this:

Cute hey!? I had been looking for a nice sewing box for some time, and thought I just had to have it...... But of course Roseanne wanted it too (she did spot it after all!)! I tried to con her into getting the green one, but no, she HAD to have THAT one! Geesh! So now we have the same! The joys of similar taste lol!

Happy Birthday 7th Calico Crossroads! I hope there are many MANY more!
