Thursday...

This morning, at about 9.30am I finished quilting MY quilt! It is the first one of MY quilts from my new toy that I have done! The first time I seen this design stitched, I fell in love with it! Flower Swirls! It has a lovely feel to it.... puffy/cuddly!

Here is a close up of the design on the back:

And, the front: Well part of! It is from last years Kerry Swain workshop! I am not sure if I have the binding fabric! I will have to have a hunt............

While the quilt was stitching away, I got the binding finished on TTS! All that's left is quilting on 3 sides of the outer border - just inside the binding, and to stitch the sleeve down at the back! That's tonight's project! Oh, and don't forget the label!

Thanks to Maree, I stitched the 'R' in too! Oops!

And today, I also finished stitching this. Nothing major, but something I wanted to get done for the show next week! Now I must get that completed too... wont take long!

And that's about it! I REALLY need to get something traced for when TTS is actually finished! Must get onto that now and stop fluffing about!

*ME* Day.......

I decided, with this week off work, that Wednesday will be MY sewing day! I have been itching to start something for the last few weeks, maybe piecing? Maybe a Doll? Trace off something? Sew these blocks together on my Design Wall that have been there for SO long??!! So, up bright and early (6am), seen the Hubby off, then got a quilt on my machine going...... Once that was sorted, I got to work on my TTS! Chookyblue has been cracking that whip, with deadline approaching (plus I have entered it in the local show next week!!) I got the binding sewn on:

Ready for tonight! Then I can do another row of quilting just in from the binding!

The quilt on the machine finished, so got another quilt going. Actually, it is nearly finished......

Now, what to start? I have a decent sized sewing room here, it has my Horn Sewing Cabinet, a few plastic tub drawers as well as a good sized dining table......

What a bloody mess! With it like this, I cant get organised and cant settle on anything (plus I cant be bothered cleaning it up)! I have had my cutting mat on the kitchen bench this whole week cause there is no room on my table (its a wonder Dennis hasn't said something)! Arrrrrhhhh! Actually, I do tell a lie..... I just started making one of those Marg Low ornies I made a while back which is also going in the show next week. I was supposed to enter a doll I had planned to make too, but don't think that will happen... Well I know it wont!

Thinking when this quilt is done, maybe I should put one of mine on...... hmmmm sounds like a plan!

*Ding* quilt finished, best be off - and its lunch time! I might pop back tomorrow.....

Purchases

A week later, I thought I had better show you my purchases from the Craft Shop Hop!

10 fat eights in blue, brown, white and orange:

2 FQ's from Wells. The dark pink is a Nancy Halverson, and I didn't have much left in my stash for my Hexie quilt! The other is not really showing up in true colour. It is a green tone with brown writing.

13 fat eights from Picture Patchwork:

And, another 13 also from Picture Patchwork:

Oh, and I got a couple of patterns too. Sew Sally ones which are for a sewing bucket/pail, which is not here on my desk at the minute!

I have been working quite a bit on my Tis The Season quilt. I think I only have 3 blocks to quilt, then I will attach the binding, and hand quilt just inside that! It has been a great night project!

I have next week off work so I plan to put a dent in the BIG stack of quilts and do something for *ME*! Here's hoping!

It is a mix of a couple of Anni's designs as I wanted to try something different! Quite pleased with how it turned out, and glad you liked it Sue!

Was quite a good swap all round......

I still have to take a pic of the goodies I purchased last Friday.... They are SOMEWHERE under all this stuff on my sewing table!!

Purse Swap

Our online Group' 'Opening Night' for our latest swap: The Purse Swap was Friday night. It is always such a fun night..... Plenty of chat and laughter!

I was lucky enough to have Peg make for me. And this is what I received: A Hatched and Patched purse with a stitchery from The World as it Should Be book AND she also made me one of her key fobs also with a Hatched and Patched stitchery (I think?):

Here is a close up of the wool purse:

And, the back! I didn't notice until the next day actually that it has the S on the back.... Too busy admiring the front! lol

Here is a close up of the key fob:

THANKYOU so much Peg! You did a wonderful job and I love them both!

I will be back to share what I made. I sent it last week Express Post and it didn't arrive in time. SORRY Sue!

Craft Shop Hop

What a day! Yesterday, I set off to pick Leanne up for a little craft retail therapy and to catch up with great friends! First port of call...... Deloraine - Fresh Fabrics! This shop has very modern fabrics like Amy Butler, Heather Bailey just to name a few. And, it has a sale on!

Next stop, Ulverstone - Cranberry Crafts!

While there, we met up with the other girls, and had some lunch. Then off to Latrobe - Picture Patchwork and Wells. And, can you believe I didn't even take a pic of those two duh!

Next stop, our normal Cherry Shed arvo tea! Scones for me!

Here we are:

Christine (no blog), Vicki, Leanne, Christine and Myself!
Thanks girls, it was a lovely day.... Looking forward to the next one!

Also, I recently participated in a Purse Swap with my online Group and I received the most gorgeous purse.... Thanks Peg! I will post about that tomorrow!

Hand quilting

Finally, I have my Tis The Season quilt in my hoop! And, I have managed to hand quilt 2 blocks so far. I really enjoy hand quilting and I use Petra thread which is very similar to Perle thread.

My favourite technique is the Thimble Lady way! If you click on the link, you will see a little demo.

I did a class a few years ago, and you received a plastic thimble at the time, but we were able to 'upgrade' to a silver one if we wanted at a great discount. Of course I couldn't say no! And, it is one of the best crafty things I have ever purchased! It makes things so much quicker. And, I totally love it!

Tomorrow, I am off on a Craft Shop Hop with some friends. Some ladies I am sure you will know. I am really looking forward to it. I must charge the camera ready......

Quilting

I have been a bit quiet lately, but I have been busy. Actually, it seems a lot of the Crafty Blogging Community have been quiet. I have been blog hopping, but I am terrible at leaving comments! I suppose it is because we are all so time poor, and have SO many blogs in our 'favourites'!

On the quilty front, I have been EXTREMELY busy! Today, I thought I would show you a recent couple I have quilted for some lovely ladies recently:

I will try and post a sneaky peep tomorrow of a little secret project I am working on!
