Saturday

Recently I got asked if I would like to attend the Longford Friendship Day with my business. It was held last Saturday and what a great day it was! Plenty of ladies stitching away and you could tell they all had an awesome day! I only managed to get a couple of pics of my space. As always, I take way too much stuff to these things......

Part of my Moda stand:

Our friendly 'neighbour' for the day was Anna Jarman from Creative Memories. You may know her from Bumble Bee Designs fame from many moons ago! We had heaps of fun and plenty of giggles. Thanks to the Longford girls for asking me and a BIG thankyou to Judy, my lovely SIL who came to help me. Your a legend x

Sunday out

On Sunday we decided to have a nice relaxing day by going out for the day. There has been PLENTY of rain here and lots of flooding, so we thought it was a good time to go to Liffey Falls with the SLR camera!

It was a nice drive there:

This pic was taken at the start of the road, just over the bridge:

Man Ferns were everywhere. Look at this huge one, 3 times taller than Dennis (I also took a pic of a funny bendy one.... will have to look for that!):

It was a nice walk down:

The first Falls. Only small, but there was quite a force behind it!

This one is the main falls, pic taken from one of the lookouts:

This is the one from the bottom of the falls. I didn't go completely to the bottom as I would have had to walk over some wet rocks..... I was a little too scared in case I slipped and fell on my butt!

These pics were taken with my little camera. Just a little Sony Cyber Shot (Dennis hogged the SLR lol). He got some wonderful pics. On top of the large falls (the one just above. Not sure if you can see from my pic), there is a big bolder sitting on the edge which I am sure was not there last time we went..... It was lovely to see all that water. Last time we went, there was really only a trickle! To see more pics of Liffey, some are really beautiful, check it out here.

The Launceston Gorge was also flooded and there were HEAPS of people flocking there to take pics. We didn't bother stopping by. But, if you want to have a look at some pics of the Launceston Gorge, click here. It truly is an amazing place, not far from the city centre!

Black and Grey

My recent project... ANOTHER scarf! This time Black and Grey, using 5 stitches.

Love this one!

And yes, I have another (my last) at the half way stage - 7 stitches. I am not going to show you that, you will have to wait until late this year!!!!!!

Just a little finish

Just a little finish...... Weather a little, or big, it is still a finish! A drawstring bag, made for a friend to put her Scrabble letters in:

Didn't take long at all! Actually, I think the longest part was putting that cord in..... Thinking I made the casing too small!

I have also finished another scarf, will show you next post! And, for those who are interested to know how many stitches Mum used, she says 8!

New scarf

My Mum recently sent me a scarf she had knitted from this trendy wool - Elicia! Quite cool! The wool looks like it is has already been crocheted, so it turns out quite thick and warm:

Mum also included a ball of the wool for Nan to make herself one (she loves her knitting), but she couldn't quite get the hang of it.... Well, so she said! So, I went through the pattern, told her it was easy peasy, and started her off..... Nope, she didn't want to do it, said it was too hard, and that 'I am the clever one' so I should do it! Far out! And, you know what? This scarf is quite long, the pattern says 5 stitches, I did an hour worth while she was here, done some while watching TV that night, then finished it off an hour after I got up the next morning:

This one is not as thick and as long as the one Mum did. Not sure how many stitches she used, I must find out 'cause...... Yep, I had to buy more! If you are interested in this wool, it is a Lincraft brand only from what I can find. The pattern comes with the ball, and you can get it from here.

Thanks Mum xx

Wallets

I can now reveal what those fabrics were for..... 2 Little Wallets:

Our lovely niece, Emily loved the one I gave to her Mum, Judy (still blogless!), and had asked me to make her one. Having NEVER asked me to make anything for her before, I really had to didn't I?! Her colour choice was pink, so this is the one I made for her:

She quite liked it! So, I chose well!

Emily has a sister, Melissa, so I thought I should make her one too.... I chose some fabrics from my Bliss scraps for hers:

And, she loved those fabrics too.... But really, why wouldn't you, it is one GORGEOUS range!

Can you remember a while ago, I sent off the Hot Potato of this pattern..... Wonder where it is now?! Might have to go for a search................

So, that's 2 finishes for this month, and I do have a couple of others too! I will pop back to show you more later!

Quilts:

Here is a selection of quilts that I have done since my new toy arrived:

This is Christine's quilt. She did this as a class over at Pauline's and I have actually quilted quite a few from this class. Not much of a batik gal really, but these quilts are just divine! Pattern chosen was the star design. Turned out a treat!

This one is Dawn's. This is a baby boy quilt, I think for a newborn, and looking through the pattern selection I have, we found this COOL 'hot rod' design. And, talk about look great!

This one was an Eye Spy quilt for Leslie. She chose butterflies for a little girl, and this is a pic of the back:

This quilt is Sandy's. This gal is one heck of a lady! She hand pieced every piece.... And, I tell you, it is NOT a small quilt. AMAZING! The design for this one is Vines.

This quilt is Penny's. She kindly let me run wild with this, and it was the first one I did. There were a few hiccups, but in the end, it turned out pretty good.

I have more pics.... Must see where they are and come back to show you more!

My space:

Well, it is NOT really MY creative space, but it is where I keep all my online store's wares as well as my Gammill. It is a little crowded, but overall, actually not too bad! I have just purchased a couple of white bookcases (a tall one and a cube) to display my bits, as my old one would not fit anymore with the new machine in there and I also have 4 built in cupboards.... All FULL -website stock, postage supplies, quilting supplies, quilts etc !

Looking in from the doorway. Totally love my white cake stand (the plan was to put it on top of the cube, but it is a little too wide for that), which I need to fill full of pre-cuts. I have also had to pack a couple of swivel stands away as they are a little too big now to leave on the floor.

And, here she is:

The first week we had her, she kept breaking thread. Talk about stressed! While I needed a break, Dennis had a fiddle, and she is now working like a dream! Yeah! There has been MANY quilts done from her now! I will pop back and show you some......

Playing with:

This morning, I cut into this little pile of fabrics for a couple of little projects that I cant share just yet - until I give them to their new owners which will be next weekend. I am sure that they will look great!

And, to prove I have been stitching, I just thought I would share ANOTHER secret squirrel project:

These little projects as well as a few more hexies have been crammed in in-between playing with my new toy! Talk about FUN! After a few hiccups at the start, all is going GREAT - thanks to my wonderful Hubby! I am off now, to take some pics of the room (now it is tidy!)....... Stay tuned!

I hope you all have had a wonderful, creative weekend!
