Ok, I need some advice

Ok, now like a ton of craft minded ladies around the globe, I want to make Leanne's Vignette BOM (I know ANOTHER project!). I see this as a long term project as it goes for 2 years, so why not! I have not started as yet, as I have other stuff I need to get done first, and the second issue is due here TOMORROW!!

So, I was thinking of making mine a bit different. And, if you are a regular reader of my blog, you will know that I *LOVE* 'Breakfast At Tiffany's' by Fig Tree Quilts and had decided on that range! Now going back a few weeks ago, I caught up with my lovely friend Leanne, and she showed me her BEAUTIFUL Vignette block..... and it was made using a couple of Fig Tree ranges (not Strawberry Fields). I don't want to be the same as Leanne, but I am sure they would look different if I choose to go that way.

Here is Breakfast at Tiffany's:

So, I then thought maybe I could use another of Fig Tree ranges, "Strawberry Fields', with a few Breakfast at Tiffany's thrown in (and I have some Whimsy left from the 'George Town Circle' I made for Mum and Dad for Christmas).
Strawberry Fields:
Then, the other day, I was chatting to Roseanne about what range she is going to use, and I showed her 'Oasis' by 3 Sisters. Very pretty indeed! The more I looked at it, the more I thought I liked it, then she decided on that for hers. Bumma!
Oasis:

So, as you can see, I am in a bit of a pickle and would love your suggestions on which to choose. I also purchased my pack of Lecian basics just in case as these were getting hard to get, and I would HATE to miss out lol!
I would love to hear your opinion.
***EDIT: I have put a poll on the top right of my side bar so that it is quicker and easier than commenting, cause I know there are LOTS of blurkers about lol***
I hope you all are having a wonderful Monday.

Happy dance! Finished Noticeboard!

Friday night was spent cutting out and organising fabric placement for my Noticeboard. I don't know why choosing fabrics always takes so long! Then on Saturday, a trip to Launceston to choose my frame. I wanted a wooden one (love my wood), as there was not any white in my version, I thought the brown would suit much better.

Today, my LOVELY Dennis, made the frame for me, cut my Foam Core (he is such a sweetie xx), then I set about getting it together!

Here is how I put it together on the back side:

Then Dennis put a piece of mat behind it as the frame was quite full we didn't have room for much else to cover all that stringing.

And here it is all finished!! Talk about *LOVE* it! I used 'Breakfast At Tiffany's' by Fig Tree Quilts. Something fresh and vintage!

I left out the brown in this range as I wanted it to be light and fresh:

I am just SO happy with it (cant you tell lol).

Now, where shall I put it; Sewing Room or my Quilting Room? Or, should I make another lol!

Thanks Leanne for such a wonderful useful project!

Stitching

What have I been stitching lately.......

Started on our trip to Hobart! My colours......

To match my fabrics.......

Stitchery all finished! It is the Noticeboard in the Vignette Magazine by Leanne Beasley! I must look at some frames! Luckily for me, my Hubby can frame for me! I might get to this project on the weekend, if I am lucky!
I have now got some more DMC to finish off another stitchery I started before this one. I ran out, so started this until I got some more! More later!
I hope you are enjoying your week!

Saturday, out

Friday afternoon, I drove to our second accommodation. Hobart had a very big weekend with a few different events on, so booking a hotel was VERY hard! We managed to secure a room at the Salamanca Terrace's. One of our favourite places in Hobart is Salamanca! It has this lovely feel about it, feels like old time! There are lots of great trendy shops, Art Galleries, cafes and pubs..... I tell you, this place gets VERY busy at night time!

Saturday morning, we headed out to the famous Salamanca Markets. This is the view after stepping out of the Terraces:

After a bit of shopping, we walked over to the Marina to check out the Wooden Boat Festival. There was some AMAZING boats there!

The black one looked like a Pirate Ship, the photo's I took of it on its own didn't turn out too crash hot, so this one will do:

We spent a couple of hours there, walking along, enjoying the boats, entertainment and music!

A view at one of the Marina's of only a portion of the boats:

This boat there was VERY intricate:

Lots of detail:

Is nice to get away. And, I did manage to do some stitching too.... Will share later!

I am back!

We got home yesterday tea time, and I know I said I would update while away, but I didn't get a chance! It was such a great, relaxing few days away!

We arrived Thursday morning, I dropped Dennis off to work and I headed off to Glenorchy to meet up for lunch with these gorgeous ladies..... Fiona and Jo! I was a little early, so I went to the shopping centre first! Thanks girls for a lovely lunch xx

Then off to Hobart city centre to our hotel. Dennis's work set us up at Hobart Macquarie Leisure Inn. Only a few blocks from the mall and Cat and Fiddle Arcade:

Friday, Dennis headed off to work, so I checked out and drove to New Town to The Quilted Crow. WOW!! What a lovely new place they have! If you are ever down that way, this is a MUST see. Leonie and Deirdre allowed me to take some pics to share with you all:

A lovely old sandstone Church, with gorgeous windows leadlight windows:

Choir loft:

Beautiful don't you think?! I am off for another visit soon!

So, what did I come home with..... Some wool for a project I plan to make, and a Fat Eight bundle of Rainy Days and Mondays. I have a project in mind for this too! I think my 'to do/kit' basket is overflowing, so might have to get a bigger one lol!

Oh, and I loved making those hand pieced hexies, so I came home with these too:

Dresden Plates templates! I have wanted to have a go at them for AGES!
I shall pop back tomorrow and share some more pics from Saturday!
I hope you all are enjoying your weekend.

Off for a few days

Tomorrow morning (6.30am), I am off to Hobart for a couple of days. DH's work is sending him to the Hobart division, all expenses paid, so I have taken tomorrow off to go with him! For company (and shopping!!) lol

Last weekend I got some tracing ready. 12 Tis the Season blocks, though I wont be starting this just yet, Gail Pan's Birdie Block Keeper which I have already started, and am about half way through and ran out of DMC, and I traced off the notice board in Vignette which I plan to stitch while away.

I chose very different colours to the original, hopefully it will work out as nice!

I have lots of shopping planned while away - want to check out The Quilted Crow's new place, we will be taking a computer so I do hope to blog as well.

Oh and the Wooden Boat Show is on too.... Will be checking that out!

Best be off, charge the camera, get the Navman ready (I will need it as I don't know my way around, and I will be using Dennis's work car which I have only driven once!!), I hope I am not late for a special lunch..........

Birthday Runner

It's finished...... Only a month overdue, but hey, at least it is done! And very well appreciated!

This Table Runner is a whopping 2 mts long x 50cm wide, just the right size to fit on my MIL's entertainment unit (Dennis sneakily measured it while she wasn't looking).

I sort of cheated. I did the binding fully by machine, I don't think I would try this style again. Was very fiddly:

And, I decided to have a play with quilting feathers. I am happy how this turned out, though, not perfect, but happy with my first attempt! Thanks Diann for your info xx

And, on a couple of half hearts in a row. This was a bit awkward as the method of quilting is different to normal quilting to using the frame. Lots of stops and starts, and rolling back and forward.

So, this is my first finish to February!
I hope you all are enjoying your weekend.

A gift for *me*

This is what Roseanne made for me. A stitchery clock! This will look wonderful in my sewing room!

If you look, it says 'Stitching, Patchwork, Sewing, Quilting' around it.... Does this mean that every hour is sewing time?!

Thanks SO much Raz, I totally love it!
