Recently, I had the pleasure of quilting a couple of quilts for Clare. She popped around on Saturday and picked them up and gave me a gift:

One of her NEW patterns! Twinkle, Twinkle! The 2 quilts I quilted, were a couple of new designs she has in the pipeline too! I am sure you will see them about soon! Thanks SO much Clare!
Have you met Clare before?

As promised.......

So, did you think I was going to be here today? lol

I found the pics of my gift to Andrea! Can you believe what I made....... SHOCK HORROR!! A Thread Tidy!

I quite like the tassels around the top of the bin:

Great, handy little thing these! Sit by your table while you stitch and watch T.V or in your sewing room.....

And, it arrived in one piece! YAY! I packed it pretty well, my Nan (Andrea's Aunt), gave me some knitted hats and scarf's to send over too for the family, it was a tight fit, good protection for the bin! I hope it was not too squished!
My Nan told me I had a cousin who was a quilter and when she came back from a holiday in the UK about 12 months ago, she had a little gift for me...... A couple of little bundles of fabric from this cousin. There was a little note attached which gave me Andrea's blog addy!! WOW!! A blogger! Such a small world!
I am SO glad you liked your gift Andrea! It was a pleasure making it for you!

So much for a couple of days!!

Sorry about that lol! I have had such a busy week! All the quilts have been done and handed over YAY!! And, I managed to finish quilting my Wild Thing this morning! Pretty pleased with myself! I know I haven't shown you a pic of that yet, but you are going to have to wait! lol

In between quilting, I have not even touched my 'normal' sewing machine for a couple of weeks OR more, but have managed to squeeze in some hand sewing! I have been wanting to make myself a Mug Bag for some time now and I had made the perfect stitchery to go on the front....... BUT, do you think I could find it! Nup! Don't you hate that?! Well, I managed to stitch it again this week........ Or was it the week before......

Perfect for a Mug Bag don't you think?!

And, I have finished stitching these stitcheries:

My SIL Roseanne gave me some FQ's and some bag handles for my Birthday, so I have decided to make a bag from them all.......

From A Cinderberry Stitches design!

I am pretty sure I wont get them whipped up this month........ lol
Now my 'this weeks' sewing is..... Lynette Anderson's My Garden Button BOM! I am pretty pleased I have number one done - just have to add the button and bird (so really not done lol), and have started on Block 2 (waiting on a second button to arrive....... Mine was broken :+(! And, I must sewing some binding down ready for hand stitching if I have time before we move....... Or should I start packing???!!!
I sent a gift over to my lovely Cousin in the UK which she has received, so I shall pop back tomorrow to show you what I made...... Have to find my pics first lol
I hope you all are enjoying your weekend.

PS: Sorry about the novel lol

Still here...........

Settlement date: 30th July! YAY!! We are meeting the builders there after lunch (as DH would have finished night shift that morning) for handover, then we can MOVE in! Talk about exciting! Can you believe I have not packed a single thing! True! Luckily for us, we still have quite a bit in storage and we only really have out what we need for the past 10 months (which I might add, includes ALL my crafty bits!)! It will be so great to finally stretch out after being SO cramped for that long! I must say, it will be a little sad leaving this place, it was my Grandparents home, they built it many years ago and my Dad and his brother grew up here. I have SO many happy memories and it does feel like home to me!

So, in getting organised before we move, I have been quilting like a mad woman (actually some would say I am a mad woman all the time!!!), trying to finish them all before the big day! I had 9 quilts + 2 for myself and all I have now is 2 1/2!! Pretty good going! All will be picked up this weekend, going well (I will finish this half tonight/tomorrow - hi Jayne!!)! Then, I am going to have a little break of quilting for 3 weeks, that way I should be settled in or near enough!
Ok, ok...... So I have managed to squish a little bit of *Me* sewing in too..... I shall show you tomorrow..... or the next day lol!

Purchases

I recently purchased these buttons from Fee! Aren't they just GORGEOUS!!

I only wanted a bird really, I have Anni Downs new book ordered and wanted to make myself one of the key chains from it, but after seeing Fee had made this one, I loved the idea of the button in place of the tiny applique. After seeing the Angels, I had to have them too!!

Oh, and a Santa!

Thankyou Fee! They are just so much more beautiful in the 'flesh'!
I hope you all are enjoying your weekend.

3 weeks!!

The builder has told us that handover date for our new home is the 3oth July..... Only 3 weeks!! WOW, how exciting!!
There is still quite a bit to do, I am sure they are going to be going flat out! Last week, the driveway was poured:

So was the Alfresco Area, all done in a dark grey stamped concrete:

Back path:

This past couple of days the floor boards were all put down, shower screens put in, doors on the garage storage area and yesterday when I popped around, the painting only needed doing in the living areas!
I really have to get some quilts done this weekend, didn't get much done last weekend due to the Evandale Gathering and home duties lol.......

More Evandale pics

I was SO excited to have a go at fabric painting! I have loved these painted and stitched Teddy blocks for SO long but always thought it would be too difficult to do....... But, with Libby there to teach us I found it SO inspiring! And, I must say it was SO easy! I am pretty pleased with my effort, I know that I will be doing this again........... Don't mind that black spot, I think it is a little bit of fluff lol

Here is my sewing efforts for the day.... Minus the flower petals, I did them when I came home!

Having *loved* the Teddy painting, I went over to Libby's display to find myself something to do at home (when I find my paints....... I knew where they were before we moved lol), and came across this BEAUTIFUL pattern, bag and pearls included!! So sweet!!

I also fell in love with Marg Low's 'Aunt Ivy's' pattern, so that found it's way in my bag!

So, I bet you all are thinking...... What did I win?! This:

'Remember When' by Libby Richardson Block Of The Month pattern set!! WOW!!! See what I mean, gobsmacked, totally, TOTALLY gobsmacked! Funny thing was, when we were seated they handed out the tickets..... I was given number 3 which is Dennis's lucky number and I said to Roseanne, I am going to win something today....... Mind you, I got a shock when my number was called out! Thankyou to Libby for donating such a wonderful prize, I will have so much fun making it - sometime soon!

Sewing day out!!

I have had the most awesome day, spent at Evandale at a sewing gathering!! Organised by the lovely Christine! She did an amazing job at organising everything for us, for such a relaxing day.....

Guest tutors for the day were Marg Low, Libby Richardson and the Blue Willow Cottage Gals! All beautiful, talented ladies! I didn't take many pics due to the copyright issues - here is a pic of Marg Low's stand...... GORGEOUS don't you think?!

There was quite a few projects for the day, I totally *loved* theses little needle cases..... all using felt! On the way home, we stopped off at Spotlight to grab a supply of felt to have a play at home! See the little stitcheries in the frame.... That's one of the two projects I had a play with:

Here is a close up of the felt needle cases by Marg Low:

Blue Willow Cottage Bag with dimensional flowers:

There were a few of us Bloggers there, and had reserved a table together. Chatting among ourselves a couple of weeks ago, we decided to do a Xmas Tree Ornie Swap on the day......

I was VERY pleased with the Ornie I received, a Rosalie Quinlan design (made by Leanne)! Such beautiful stitching! THANKYOU Leanne, I love it!

Here is mine wrapped and ready to go........

And, here is what I made...... A Christine Book design. This is actually a bigger Ornie, but I re-sized it to suit! And who should have received it, Leanne lol!

I do have other pics to share, I won one of the Lucky Door Prizes and was TOTALLY GOBSMACKED (totally, totally gobsmacked!!) at what I received (Leanne won a Lucky Door Prize too, you can check out what she received on her blog)....... I am going to keep you in suspense until tomorrow! Cruel aren't I? lol! If you want to see more pics of the day, pop over to my lovely Blogger Buddies whom I spent the most beautiful day with, it was great catching up with them all: Roseanne, Leanne, Lisa, Jane, Cathy & Marina!
Cya then

Swapping

I recently had a little swap with Amanda for her GORGEOUS pin toppers, she has now received her gifts from me so I can now show you all! ......... She loved the book Sew I bought a little while back which had the Hot Water Bottle Cover pattern in it, so this is what she wanted in return:

And, I decided to make her a little thread bin too as a little secret gift:

After I made those two items, I got thinking....... Maybe I should make her something with an Owl on it........... so, I decided to make a Sunglasses Case, complete with an Owl stitchery:

This Owl stitchery I found online, I just re-sized it to fit the case (turned out a treat!):

Here are all Amanda's gift's all together!

I am SO glad you liked them all Amanda! I had fun making them for you!
On house news.... I am VERY excited! Our driveway was done today YAY!! They are hoping to do the back 'alfresco' area and paths tomorrow (weather permit!!)..... fingers crossed!
