One last finish for March

I was commissioned to make a chenille teddy bear for a friend's new Grand-baby girl - Addison!
I used white chenille (from an old bed spread purchased from Vinnie's a couple of years back)

A dusty pink felt jacket with 'A' for Addison embroidered on the side. I done this with my embroidery machine (the first time I have used that for AGES!!)

And, she asked me to put a label on it so she can write something to her new GD..... what better place than the 'bum' (hidden behind the jacket) lol

I think Miss Sophie thought it was for her.......

I don't think so!!! I said 'sit', 'stay', then as soon as I took the pic she went to take off with it!! Luckily I was ready for her hahaha

I passed ted on yesterday, the lady loved it, YAY!! It was so quick and easy to make this pattern, no joints!!
So, last finish for the month of March..... brings me to 7 finished projects... Pretty pleased with that!

Quilting and a GIVEAWAY

Just off my quilting machine this past week is this gorgeous, pretty quilt (looks abit baggy, cause I forgot to take a pic when I was quilting it, so as I was un-winding it off, I decided to take the pic):

The lady chose my 'freehand flowers' which suited just perfectly!! Turned out quite well I think! I hope she likes it!

Now onto my Giveaway! Have you been loving the 'Little Wallets' I have been making here and here?

Well, I have decided put this gorgeous little sewing card available as a 'Hot Potato'...... similar to the 'Point Taken' runner I had last year! But, there are conditions!!!
1. You must have a blog to be in it.
2. Once you receive it, you must pass it on to another blogger via a giveaway within 1 month! It will be great to see where goes around the world......
3. Add your name and blog address to the card provided which will also be passed on with the pattern.
So, if you agree to have made it and to pass it on within this time frame, please comment on this post! I am happy to post anywhere in the world! I shall leave this giveaway open until Good Friday (here in Australia).

It's the weekend, I have more quilts lined up to do and tomorrow we are off to town to choose some stuff for our new home.... wish me luck lol

Group swap

Our online Friends In Stitching had our first swap for the year.... the topic this time was 'Leanne's House'! And, from some of the things swapped it really sounded like a fantastic swap (but of course it would have with that topic!!)

Here is what I made for Jan:

'In Your Garden Plant Some Love' cushion. Turned out pretty well, and I even put a zipper in the back! Pretty pleased with that! Turns out it matches Jan's lounge suite too....
I received a gorgeouse Rounneries Bag from Cathy.... just LOVE it and will post a pic tomorrow.

On Wednesday, I received a lovely email from my Blogger Buddie Lisa, congratulating me for my letter for Homespun Mag:

There was a pic of my Yuletide Faerie doll that won 1st prize in the local show!! How exciting! And, congratulations to Teresa for winning the pattern pack for her letter!! And, there was another blogger featured there too.... Bev!! How funny, 3 bloggers for the first 3 letters in the mailbag section!!
Tonight is the night for opening our recent swap gift, so I shall pop back tomorrow with some pics of what I made and what I received...... My package is sitting here, still un-opened since yesterday. And, I haven't been tempted at all!

Wuthering Heights

Anyone know the fabric range 'Wuthering Heights' by 3 Sisters? And, how long ago it was released? Well, that is how long I have had this UFO sitting here! Maybe it will be for the best if I didn't know lol! When the fabrics came out, I just had to have them! As my 'old' quilting frame would not quilt something this big, it had been sitting just as a top, waiting for me to either get it done by someone else or to wait until I got a new larger quilting machine! So, when I got my new quilting machine, this was the very first quilt I quilted on it:
And, as we were in the process of waiting for our home to be sold, I attached the binding and thought I would hand sew down later! Well, that time had come - last week! And, now it is finished! What a feeling! And, I totally love it! Dennis took me out for a little photo shoot this afternoon. We went to Low Head at one of the colonial homesteads:

Here is the full quilt, on the trusty old clothes line lol:

The pattern I used for this is called Le Jardin and was easy peasy to put together! I like it with the darker sashings rather than the light.
I hope you all have enjoyed your weekend

Sewing efforts x 3!!

When we went down to Fresh Fabrics a week ago, I bought this 'Little Wallet' pattern! Roseanne and Myself decided to make these together Friday night............. I tell you, they are SO quick, easy to make and used very little fabric! And, of course I could not stop at one..... Yep, made 3 - shock horror!! Going out for coffee with a friend shortly and I am going to give her one:

Just before Roseanne arrived, I placed my chicken money box on the table with a sign around his neck:

Sometimes, when we have stitching nights, things get a little heated with either Myself or Roseanne and the sewing machine or un-picker (you know, the machine is not stitching straight *wink wink*)! I told her last time, any tantrums, she has to put $10 in my money box........... hehehehehe. All good last night, I even set her up (I totally hate it when someone has used my machine and when I go to use it, the needle is on its way up and therefor the cotton comes out and I have to re-thread GRRR) an still there was calm! So now, my money box is sitting here, empty! Might get her next time hehehehe

Looks like rain, must run out and get my tea dyed lace off the line...........

I hope you are all enjoying your weekend

A gift for me...........

The lovely Betty from Scottsdale came to pick her quilt up today, and when she arrived, she gave me these GORGEOUS roses........ How lovely of her!! I have them here, sitting next to the computer so I can look at them all the time! I am so lucky!!

On another note, I have a little swap gift all packaged up and have actually posted it off this afternoon..... Now Jan, DO NOT open until the 19th!! I will post pics of that after the swap date!

Got all my jobs done today (apart from the vacuming, recently got it back from the repairer and it just blew up again GRRRRR), so now I have plans for this creative weekend! I hope you all do to!

The latest........

The latest quilt to get quilted here is Betty's quilt:

Made for her DS 4oth Birthday! And, this quilt is very BIG!! She is off to the 'Mainland' early next week to give it to him..... cutting it fine lol!

I don't have ANY hand stitching ready to go at the moment (shock horror) but, I need to attach binding to a couple of quilts that have been sitting here for, ummmmm........ Best if I don't say how long lol! Will get stuck into that once Vicki arrives.......

Friday's travels:

On Friday, Roseanne any Myself went for a drive to Deloraine to check out a 'newish' Patchwork Store called "Fresh Fabrics'! What a lovely store! LOTS of beautiful pretty fabrics! I bought this bundle of Heather Bailey's 'Nicey Jane' fabrics:

Aren't they delicious?! Not sure what I am going to make from them just yet..... been looking at lots of different patterns, but just don't want to cut them in little pieces! Pretty sure I will find that 'perfect' pattern soon! I am sure I will be stopping by that shop again!!

On the way home, we decided to stop into Esme's to see Lillian and Leanne, and I bought these fabrics:

Think they will go with my Vintage Sewing Cushion nicely (I know I did buy others, but I was not 100% sure of one I purchased, so I will use one of these instead)...... Still no progress on that as I need to finish that Swap Gift and Quilt another quilt!

Anyway, better get going, got to get ready to go out...... Celebration dinner for our Niece's 18th tonight!
