Are you afraid of..........

Zips!! Well, I was, until recently as I have been playing around with zips in little purses..........

Natalie Lymer of Cinderberry Stitches has a GREAT beginner tutorial for this cute Zipper Pouch! The tutorial is full of detailed pictures, so it is easy to follow. I whipped this one up last night:

It was SO easy and quick to make, that I made another today!!

If you would like to make one of these, Part 1 is here, and Part 2 is here. This would actually be great made in that PVC fabric stuff to put your precious things in to take to the beach..... hmmmm..... should I make a 3rd?!
I hope you all are enjoying your weekend.

2nd Block completed

Here is my 2nd Block completed for our online Group's BOM:

Georgia Block:

Here it is with the first Block ' Capital T':
Hmmmmm, they really don't go together, but, the green used in the first block was actually from the same range of fabrics that I used for the 2nd block. I suppose it will work in the end (here's hoping!). I decided when I started this, that I would not buy any more fabrics, just stick to my stash and had chosen to use my Chocolat by 3 Sisters and Rhubarb and Ginger by Blackbird Designs..... 3rd Block is now available, I might get to that this weekend..... maybe!

A little bit of shopping!

This afternoon, Roseanne and Myself went for a little drive to stock up on supplies at Calico Crossroads!

Here is my 'loot':

These are from a new range Pauline has in store called 'Heart and Soul' and it is just DEVINE!! I won her giveaway a little while ago, and she said I could choose which 4 fq's I would like next time I popped over, so I chose 4 and bought another 2 from that range!! The more I look at it, the more I want more of it!! I plan to make a bag with this lot (when I get around to it lol):

I know, I STILL have not done any more to my Vintage Sewing Cushion, but my excuse is I just could not find the right fabric in my overflowing stash...... so what is a girl to do?! Buy more fabric of course!! I found these which match the one fabric I do want to use:

My latest project is a 'secret', so I cant show just yet...... Though, I have only just finished putting together the FIS Georgia Block which I just need to press (just in the nick of time as the next one is due out tomorrow)! I shall pop back tomorrow with that!

Another finish and a new blogger

I totally *love* this Doily! The Garden Doily by Leanne's House! Looks like a lot of work, but really it didn't take long at all! Think it only took me a week from start to actual completion!! Still a little wrinkly as I washed it a little last night to get the 'blue' pen off, and it is still damp slightly:

And, the blue pen didn't come off completely!! Anyway, here is a close up of my stitching:

Here a my 3 new Doily's...... The Butterfly one, I finished off late last year:

I do have the patterns for these in my online store and have also made up kits for the Butterfly Doily which everything is included apart from the pellon/batting..... you will receive the pattern for the whole 3 doily's.
On another note, there is another new crafty blogger!! Pop over and welcome Jane... another Tassie Gal and sister to Lisa!!

Bloom'n Family

As some of you may know, my Dad came to stay with us for a little while recently from QLD to catch up with us all, but, mainly his Mother who is in a Nursing Home.

Well, earlier in the week, while I was at work, I had a box delivered to my front door at home. On opening the box, I found these..... from my Dad thanking us for 'looking after him so well':

Aren't they just GORGEOUS?! A bouquet full of Ferrero Rocher's, Lindt Chocolates and chocolate stars!! YUMMO!! Sadly though, when I found these on my front step, the box was covered in ANTS!! And, when I took the bouquet out of the box, the ants were actually inside the chocolate's and some of the chocolate melted a bit too! BUGGA!! Fancy leaving them in this heat for who knows how many hours! What a disappointment, and a waste of money for my parents! They contacted Edible Blooms to let them know what happened, only not to have received a reply........... GRRRRR

Progress and New Pattern

This past week, I have been busily stitching my latest project:

I am quite happy with my progress on it! Just have to add the centre french knots and the quilting then I can put it altogether. I also made the Daisy Doily a little while ago and have only just found matching ric-rac for it, so I can put that together at the same time!!

On other news..... remember these Table Runners I made late last year:

Aster Manor:

Odysea:

Well, I have managed to source a supplier and I now have them available in my store!! I have the patterns available on their own, or you can purchase a kit which includes the pattern, white homespun backing as well as your choice of Charms!! If you are interested, pop over here.
I hope you all have had a wonderful weekend, and have found a little time to be creative!

Tip toe, through the Tulips......

Last night, I traced out a new project...... I know, I don't really need another as I still have that Vintage Sewing Cushion and another of those Friends Needlecase's to finish off.... but they just need putting together, and my sewing machine is packed away due to our little visitor :+)

So, I decided to trace this off:

And, I am pleased to say I have stitched half the tulip stems already! Pretty good going!

I have wanted to make this project for SO long, but just could not find matching fabric and ric-rac - found some at Ulverstone recently!

I hope you are all enjoying your weekend, and have found time to be creative!

I been quite busy!! Here is a pic of one of the recent quilts I had the pleasure of quilting for a lady:

I really like this quilt! Heather Bailey fabrics, I never used to like her ranges, but they are really growing on me! This quilt was made using a Layer Cake!

This afternoon, I plan to do some tracing for some hand work as I just don't have any ready at the moment..... more on that later!

I hope you all are enjoying your Friday
