Grr to blogger

I know I promised to share my tutorial for the Turnovers..... I really, really was, I had it all written out...... saved it as a 'draft' and was planning to 'tweak' it tonight before I put it up....... But, BUT, I logged on and went to check it over - and it was GONE!! GONE into 'out of space'! So, now I will have to RE-DO it all over again..... what a PAIN!!

So, what I decided to share with you tonight is this:

It is made from the Hampton Blues Charm Pack.... no pattern - just put them together! Instead of quilting it, I sewed buttons on:

This Table Runner is actually for my Patchworks Plus December Giveaway! Every purchase goes in the draw to win this......

Ok, off for a 'sulk' then I shall re-do all that hard work and post it tomorrow.......

PS: Sorry Paulette, you will have to wait another day!

December Daily

Last year I looked in awe of Janelle Wind's 'December Daily Journal'..... it was just beautiful! This year, she decided to do another...... and I decided I might too!! This is Ali Edwards idea, you can read about her 2008 album here. So, Friday night I set to work to get the foundations of my book.... I made my pages all different sizes - to make it more 'scrappy' and I think it turned out a treat! Today, I will share with you some of my favourite pages......

This one I think is my favourite. I sewed on 2 buttons for the closure of the page:

I really like how Janelle used vellum or something like that for some of her pages.... I cut out some templastic and it worked well! (totally LOVE those Journal punch-outs I purchased a little while ago - though you cant really see it for the sunlight.... I will try to take a better pic when I finish the page!)

2 Journal tags, one for small pics and one for journalling:

Here is my Christmas Day page:

Here is the side view:

I am really looking forward to this, and I shall show you pages as I finish them. I have most pages embellished already....... though some will wait until I have pics ready to go in as I can embellish on the actual pic! Oh and, I still have to do the cover and back page..... not sure as yet what I would like to do for it - card stock or chipboard! My SIL Roseanne came round Saturday and wanted to join in too..... so, I helped her out with a few pages and then she was off and racing! Her book looks amazing!
Anyone else going to do this?
I hope everyone is enjoying your weekend..... tomorrow, I shall post the Turnover tutorial! It turned out great and I am very pleased with it. So come back and check that out!

I found Illona's quilt which turned out beautiful!

And, here is my quilt! I am very happy with the way it turned out..... very masculine and modern! I have yet to add the borders which will be a red narrow (about 2 1/2") inner and a black with flowers on it for the outer.... and binding will be stripe!

This is a pic of the centre block is called 'Georgtown Circle' which is the name of the quilt Kerry designed.

Well, thats it from our weekend workshop - I am sure there will be heaps of pics popping up soon here, here, here, here.

Workshop Pics *image heavy*

Well, it's over! What a fun sewing weekend we all had!

Once we all arrived on Saturday morning, Kerry had told us she had good intentions of making us all a little thread bin as a gift, but she did not have the time...... so instead we all made our own gift from her (she supplied us all with a couple of fabric squares) LOL...... This actually was a better way to go as we all got to see how to make one of these! GREAT, quick and easy gifts made in a flash! Thankyou Kerry for showing us all, I think they were a hit! And, I can tell you, mine was full by the end of the weekend lol:

Here is our table..... 'stuck in the naughty corner' (or really, just close to the food and coffee lol)....Vicki (who tells me she is going to get back into blogging), Sue, Sue and Christine:

These pics are pieces of Sue's quilt..... she didn't get to finish her top. She did lay it on top of the original and it looked stunning (I didn't get a pic of it on the wall, I was too busy sewing :+) I am really looking forward to seeing it finished some day!

Here is Kerry's original.... named 'Georgetown Circle':

Here is Lisa's quilt. The colours in this looked SO nice! She was the first to finish as she had to dash off early!

Her is Sue's (there were 3 Sue's in the class). Love this blue and brown combo:

Now, this lady - Debbie chose brights and Whoa.... did this look great! The blue in the pic does seem to be a bit brighter than it really is in real life. The black really, really made this quilt I think!

Here is Vicki's quilt. She wanted a terracotta and navy theme and I think this really turned out great! The colours went really well with each other!

Here is Sonja's quilt! I really like this one! The colours really worked well together! I hope Sonja this gets you enthused back into doing your Tassie Bound........

Here is Mavis's quilt. I can say that I normally don't like black and white, but this turned out a treat! The blue, red and green in the centre really made it!

I am pretty sure I have more quilt pics on my camera (and, I know I didn't get a couple of the quilts too - from our table Sue (who used a real pretty selection of fabrics) and Christine - who used Rouenneries and it will look just stunning I am sure!), but I shall wait until tomorrow to show you all - along with mine (I need to press mine first!).
Thankyou Kerry for teaching us this beautiful quilt xx And, thankyou to Pauline for feeding us all that beautiful food (that slice was VERY nice wasn't it Christine ;+) and organising this class in your shop..... we all had a fantastic time xx
I hope you all had a fantastic weekend

More Journals swap pics

Today, I went to the Kerry Swain Workshop at Pauline's shop and what a day we all had! I achieved heaps of my quilt - back again tomorrow, so I will show you all my quilt pics then!
Both Myself and Kerry participated in the Journal/Diary Cover Swap, and this year she was here in Tassie for opening.... so we actually got to do ours 'face to face' which was SO nice!

Here is my Journal cover I made for Kerry. I used a Nancy Halverson stitchery and used some of her fabric too. The verse reads "True Friends are like Angels... You don't have to see them to know they are there.':

I love the ric rac around the edge..... Something abit different:

Kerry made me a A4 Binder cover! And it is FABULOUS! I am just SO spoilt! She used some HUGE ric rac on the edge and done some redwork!

Oh, and look! She put in a little Sophie:

It has some inside pockets, great for my bits and bobs! She actually gave me one of her patterns too - The 'Christmas Swag"!

THANKYOU so much Kerry! I LOVE it! And, I am sure I will put it to good use!

Best be off....
Enjoy your weekend

Diary/Journal Cover Swap pics

Our online Group has just swapped our Journal/Diary Cover Swap. Talk about some lovely gifts being made! Remember I gave a sneak peep of this not too long ago:

It is the Diary Cover I made for Peg. The postie didn't leave it for Peg, and she got home after the PO had closed so she was unable to pick it up :+( so I sent her a pic so she has something to see on 'opening night'!

And, I was TOTALLY spoilt with my gift! Jen made me this cover and it is actually a 'pouch'! Something different and I LOVE it!

And, she included a Journal too.... I am pretty sure I will put that to good use! The fabrics she chose for me are just beautiful! Pink and red - totally love that combo!

And, check out the button closure - it is thimble button! How cute!

THANKYOU so much Jenny! I just LOVE my gift!

I still have another Cover to Swap and will be doing that tomorrow..... Looking forward to tomorrow actually, the Kerry Swain Workshop is on!
Enjoy your weekend, I do hope you find time to be creative
