More quilting

I know I should be packing, but I still had some quilts to do! Here are the latest quilts I did for a lady who picked them up today:

This is the same as the one I recently done for a Lady, her friend REALLY liked what I did with it, so sent over 3 for me to do..... exactly the same please:

All 3 for the same lady, and will be embellished with beads, bells etc......

I have also just finished another, with hearts..... I had never done hearts before and this quilt REALLY needed something 'pretty'. I had abit of a play and it turned out pretty good, but I am un-able to show you the full quilt..... but I might show you a sneeky peek after I find out if I allowed :+)
I hope you all have had a creative weekend.

PS: I would like to ask you all a question. How would you like to have a place where crafters meet for a chat..... any time, any day, from all over the world?

Dolly time

It has been a long while since I have made any dolls! I had all intentions for making a couple of dolls for the local show here in October and have only just got around to making them! I totally *love* this gal! Here name is Lottie and she is a Country Keepsakes pattern.

She is Florence's cousin:

This is one of three dolls (different designs) that I have had on the go this past week or two ....... I have just finished another doll which I can not show you all just yet, and have nearly finished the third, so I will post a pic once it is finished!
Terrible weather here..... TONS of rain! We went to Launceston today and there was SO much water laying in the paddocks! Hopefully it will ease up soon!
I hope you are all enjoying your weekend

Challenge quilt

This is my latest finish, my Amy Butler Stacked Coin/Brick Path Quilt which was part of a challenge with Ange and Teresa! I stayed up late last night (or really early in the morning) to get the binding done. This is a decent size quilt to, 177cm x 194cm. I am pretty happy with the finished quilt - even Dennis says it is not too bad now LOL! The finish date was August.......
Here is a close up of my quilting:

On the other side, I decided to make another pieced 'top' so this quilt had 2 pretty sides. I used Amy Butler's free pattern 'The Brick Path Quilt', this is really quick and easy to put together and even great for the beginner. If you would like the free pattern for this click here.

Here is a close up of my quilting on that side:

Of course, when it was sitting on the floor, Sophie had to snuggle it.... well, Dennis wrapped her in it....... she must have liked it because it took a little while for her to move! LOL

I am still working on those 3 dolls! The clothes are nearly all done, just have to hand stitch the hem's etc then I can start putting them together and doing their face! Hopefully I will have some to share this week....
I hope you all have had a great weekend

Scrap Bags

With the wet weather here, it is perfect weather to sit inside and sew! And, I have been doing just that today! But, with nothing to 'share' just yet (maybe tomorrow) I thought I would share this:
Moda Scrap Bags have arrived to my store! For those of you that don't know what they are.... They are 1/2 a pound of fabrics - they are left overs from Moda's Layer Cakes. They are colour co-ordinated (though not always from the same collection). Most still have the selvages on, and are on sale with $10 off!

Then, today while popping over to the Moda Bakeshop Site (*love* that site! They have SO many free patterns there!) I found a pattern that uses the Scrap Bags. The FREE pattern is designed by the talented Emily from Crazy Old Ladies fame!

And, if you look closely, you will see that the strips are sewn on with the selvages still showing! Nice!

Just another thing, Gail Pan has mentioned on her blog that her book Baskets in Bloom will be out SOON!! If you are interested in pre-ordering your copy from me, you had better be quick.....
Until tomorrow

More quilting.....

On Sunday, a lady came to pick up her quilt that I had quilted for her. It was a Christmas panel and she is going to embellish it:

It turned out well, and gave me another 3 to do! Looks like I am going to be busy!!

Here is a close up of the freehand design I used:

Only 'secret' sewing going on here..... will have to start the binding on my Stacked Coin Quilt while watching Packed To The Rafters, at least I will have something to show for next time.............

Its quilted!!

On Friday, I finished quilting this quilt - the Stacked Coin Quilt or as my DH says the 'BLAH' quilt:

It turned out ok, but, the designs I choose from my stylus didn't quite line up the way I had hoped it would. I chose the wave and the large half circle, it started off ok, but by the time I came to the other edge it was slightly 'out'! Nothing too major really, just me being a 'fuss pot'!!
So, today I will attach the binding (hopefully) ready for hand stitching during the week.
I have SO many projects on the go, last night while watching a video I stuffed 3 dolls. Not all the same........ I have a shop sample on the go, ready for the kits......... 2 quilts to bind...... another to be quilted...... and another to start!! And they are just off the top of my head!
On shop news, I am taking PRE-ORDERS for Gail Pan's new book Baskets In Bloom at a great price.... If you would like to pre-order yours, pop over here and secure it at this price before my stock arrives and the price goes up. We had a sneak peek at the Gathering in Evendale and I must say the projects are just GORGEOUS!! International customers, please email for a postage price.
I hope you all are enjoying your weekend

Another quilt quilted......

Last weekend I popped into Calico Crossroads to drop off a quilt that I had quilted for the lovely Pauline! I actually quilted it using black thread and I thought it looked a treat. I couldn't get a decent full pic as it was night time when I took the pic, and this one is the best of the bunch:

Such gorgeous fabrics don't you think?

Here is a another close up of my work:

I would have to say that these would not be the 'usual' fabrics I would choose myself, but after seeing this quilt I think my tastes have changed! The black sashing really looks great with the fabrics! Once bound, Pauline will display it in her shop for a little while.......

A bit of stamping today and maybe some quilting too...

This morning while my Nan came for her weekly 'cappa', I made these....... It usually takes me a good couple of hours, as I do them in bulk! I am yet to put the centre flower/button on...... just waiting for the 'drops' to set!

On Friday night, I put the last borders on my Stacked Coin Quilt. I have had it done for about 2 weeks apart from the outside, top and bottom borders! This afternoon I hope to attach it to my frame ready for me to quilt it! I am happy with the way it has turned out, though others will disagree (Dennis & Roseanne both agree it is BLAH!!) LOL

Also, I would like to welcome Lisa to blogland! We have been chatting via email on and off for quite a while now and she has now taken the plunge and started her own blog! YAY!! She is another Tassie Girl..... from the East Coast!
Anyway, I hope you are all enjoying your weekend and have find time to be 'creative'!

My Heart My Home

Recently I had the pleasure of quilting this GORGEOUS quilt for a lovely lady here in George Town - Jeanette! It is called 'My Heart My Home' by Annie Downs. Isn't is just lovely! She tells me that it has been a UFO for about 6 years!!

She chose my freehand swirl design and I think it looked great!

Here it is being quilted:

Jeanette was very pleased with her quilt, which is great! I hope now Jeanette, you are inspired to get that binding done :+)
On shop news, the new Pincushions & Doilies pattern from Leanne's House called 'My Favourite Things' has arrived!! So, if you have pre-ordered a copy, it wont be too far away..... I dropped them all off at the PO this afternoon! If you would like a copy, they are $16 including post.

Also, I have a great sale on...... something different every couple of days, the specials are listed on my home page. Some Jelly Rolls are only $45!! Pop on over to check them out here!

I have more news to share, so I will pop back sometime over the weekend....

How lucky am I??

I had a lovely visit the other night from Roseanne who surprised me with a special gift:

We usually exchange a handmade gift for our Birthday's, but since we were both a little busy in May we decided to swap a little later. This is what she made for me:

This is a Hatched & Patched table topper. Lovely stitchery Angels all around the edging and lovely flowers around the centre! All in my favourite colours!

What beautiful work! Thankyou SO much Roseanne, I just *love* it xx

I gave my gift to Roseanne earlier than we had decided..... I posted a pic of the gift I made for her here.
I hope you are all enjoying your week

First OPAM for August

Its only the 2nd of August and I have a finished project!! Lets hope this continues! This Needlecase was one of the patterns we received at the Evandale Gathering a little while ago! I actually started on Buttons & Bows by Gail Pan on the day (which I not long finished!), I totally LOVED this Needlecase and couldn't wait to start it! I finished the hand work about a week ago, done the applique pink flower petals Friday night, and started putting it together last night!

I love how the stitchery is framed by the ric-rac:

This Needlecase is quite big, so I thought I would add some pockets to the inside - to keep full packets of needles and a pen maybe?.......

I am SO happy with the way it has turned out!

As well as the Needlecase pattern, there is the pattern for a Bag and the most GORGEOUS Glasses Case in the shape of a Ladybird! SO cute! I finally have the patterns available in my on-line store, it is called A Ladybird's Serenade by Natalie Ross, and Gail Pan's Buttons & Bows have arrived too!

I have lots of projects on the go at the moment, and I hope to give you some peeks in the next few days - all going well!! Things have been a little crazy here at the moment, and if you are still waiting on a reply email from me....... I am sorry, I will get there!!
