Last completed project for May

This is my 5th finished item for May for the OPAM Challenge! I bought an 'ugly' binder and used some of my favourite Buggy Barn 'In The Pink' fabrics to decorate it! I came across this Bronwyn Hayes stitchery I did quite a while ago and decided to add it to the front:

I made some pockets in the same range of fabrics for pens, note pads and cheque books:

Here is a close up of the stitchery:

I didn't stick to a pattern as I sort of had in mind what I wanted. It was surprisingly quick to make.
Off to message my finishes to the OPAM gals........

Another project finished

It was my SIL Roseanne's Birthday afew weeks ago, and we usually make something for each other to celebrate....... the last couple of years we have actually swapped our gifts in June as we both tend to be quite busy in May! Well, I have finished her gift early, so I gave it to her today:

It is a Seagrass a basket liner - I stitched 'Favourite Treasures', some flowers and a little bee on the front......

I added some Prairie Points all the way around using some burgundy Aunt Prudy's Parlour fabric:

It has 4 pockets inside - 3 with a flower arrangement stitchery:

And, she loved it!!

So, that is ANOTHER finish for May...... and I nearly have another :+) I will pop back tomorrow and show you all if I do!
I hope you are all enjoying your weekend

Cupcake Oven Mit by Natalie Ross

Remember when I went to the Quilted Crow Gathering at Campania and started the Cupcake Ovenmit? Well, I am please to say I have finished it!!

I am SO pleased with the way it has turned out:

Look at little Alfie the mouse..... aint he cute?! I know he wants a bite of that cupcake...........

I used similar colours to Natalie's - they are very pretty fabrics! Some are of the range Ava Rose.

Here is a pic of the back, I love how it is a stripped back - something abit different from the plain backing and makes it look pretty both sides:
The pattern for this, along with a BEAUTIFUL apron, and trivet has now been released. It is called 'Cupcake Cuties" by Natalie Ross In Stitches. It was such a pleasure to make, quick and easy!
How are you going with yours Fiona?

PS: Happy Birthday to the lovely Jan!! I hope you are enjoying your day xx

It is made from the Moda range 'Wonderland' using a jelly roll, teamed with crisp white homespun for a gorgeous effect:

Kristy didnt even use a pattern - how amazing is that!!

It is quite large (have not measured it). I was totally gob-smacked when I received it! I just *love* it! Thankyou SO much Kristy xx

Happy Mothers Day - and a gift from me

Firstly I would like to wish my Mum a Happy Mothers Day! I hope you like your gifts xx

Remember the sneek peeks from last post??? They were her gifts!! The Paddington Satchel by Moonshine Designs. I used the Cotton Blossoms range of fabrics (outer and lining) and thought it would be the perfect choice for Mother's Day being a 'Mother & Daughter' range of fabrics!!

Funny thing, I had started making this bag and had nearly finished when I was chatting to Mum on the phone. We were talking about my Cotton Blossom quilt I recently made and she had commented that she loved the teal colour! I knew then that I had chosen well!! I teamed the teal with the burgundy tone on tone for the piping. And, I just *love* this buckle!! It matches perfectly (I must get another for the Paddington Satchel I want to make myself - the smaller one).

And, as a little extra gift, I decided to make her one of her initial luggage tags - 'G' for Gail:

To all you Mum's out there. I hope you all had a wonderful day xx
And, to my good friend Lynda, I hope you have had a beautiful Birthday as well as Mother's Day xx

Autumn Gathering part 2:

It was SO great to meet Natalie in person! She is so like her blog - bubbly & happy!! I was really looking forward to meeting her! We will have the pleasure of her company again at the Evandale Gathering in July! Here is a pic of Myself, Natalie and Cathy getting a demo on Needleturn:

I didn't show you yesterday the projects Natalie had on offer at the Gathering. Here they are, aren't they just gorgeous!! The colours are just SO girly!! A Pot Holder, Trivet and an Apron:

Fiona and Myself decided to make Natalie's Pot holder:

Here is my attempt on the needleturn applique cupcake that I did on the day, not too crash hot I must say (you can see my thread). I had already done a very small amount of needleturn before, but I just could not get the points or curves quite right, but with Natalie's help I think I am getting the hang of it:

Then Sunday I decided to have another go and make the other pocket and it turned out SO well!! I think I *love* needleturn!!

Oh, I must share this pic of the lovely Isabella, modeling Natalie's Apron for us (we did get heaps of silly shot of this, but we have told her we will be keeping them for future 'blackmail' lol)

So, as you can see, we all had a FANTASTIC time. If you would like to see more pics pop over to Cathy, Leanne, Sarah, Fiona they all have some great pics on their blogs at the moment.

An Autumn Gathering with friends....

Saturday found me up bright and early (5.15am to be exact) ready for my journey to the Quilted Crow Gathering all the way down Campania. I headed off at 6.15am to pick Cathy and a couple of her friends - Sue and Giselle on my way. We arrived ready to begin at 10am to the hall quite full of eager stitchers:

The stage of the hall was decked out with heaps of great fabrics/patterns etc, all from Leonie and Deidre's store, The Quilted Crow. It all looked beautiful:

The guest tutors for the day were Helen Stubbings and Natalie Ross. What great projects they had on offer:
Here are Deidre's projects, an applique or punchneedle mini backpacks and a dolly:

Helen's projects were cupcake tea towels, mug bag, mini cupcakes:

And a colourque doily (pic courtesy of Fiona - mine did not turn out so well):

Natalie's stand:

I cant seem to find a pic of Leonie's table runner.........

I will show you tomorrow what project I started on, I am just loving it! Here is some items I bought - afew fq's, a pattern of one of Natalie's Xmas Bags - they are just SO cute!! And I got a sewline glue stick - these things are just fantastic - it came in handy with the project I started!

The theme for the day was 'Cupcakes' if you had not already guessed, and on all our tables they had placed some lovely cupcake holders to put our cupcakes on. The holders were for sale at the end of the day.
On my way home, I grabbed something for tea and arrived home just before 7.30 and was in bed by 9pm! I was totally pooped lol
That will be it for today's post. I will be showing off some more pics tomorrow.
